A free open jam session for musicians at Knuckleheads, with cold beer and bartenders available.
Levee Town hosts its Free Sunday Jam at Knuckleheads on Sunday, October 11, and it's exactly what the name says: a free open jam. Anyone is welcome to come in, sign up, and play, so if you've been practicing at home and want to get on stage, this is your chance. If you'd rather just listen, that works too. The room is rounded out with cold beer and bartenders, and since it's an open jam, the music changes depending on who shows up and what they bring to the table.
Knuckleheads is one of Kansas City's most iconic and respected independent live music venues, located in the historic East Bottoms district. It's known for its gritty, authentic atmosphere and its commitment to live music, and it's grown organically from a local hangout into a nationally recognized destination for touring artists and music fans. That's the kind of room this jam calls homeβa place that's built around live music rather than just hosting it.

This isn't a one-off, either. The jam runs weekly on the 1st of each month from October 18 through December 27, 2026, so if you miss this one, there are more coming. It starts at 1 PM, and entry is free. You can either bring your instrument and sign up to play or just grab a beer and hang out while the local musicians take turns on stage.
