A hands-on workshop to create an Everyday Carry Kit (EDC), a small utility container for daily essentials, as part of the Inktober workshop series.
The Everyday Carry Workshop is coming to the Kansas City Public Library, Southeast Branch on Saturday, October 17, from 1 PM to 4 PM. It's part of the library's Inktober workshop series, so if you've been following the other sessions this month, this is the next one to drop in on.
The whole point of the workshop is to build an Everyday Carry Kit, or EDC. If you've never heard the term, it's just a small utility container for the things you find yourself needing throughout the dayโthe kind of stuff that's easy to forget until you actually need it. The library lists a few examples of what might go inside: a small flashlight, a needle and thread, spare change, paper and pencil, and emergency contact numbers. The idea is to have a single, compact spot for all those little essentials so they're always within reach.
One of the best parts is that the library provides the supplies, so you don't have to go out and hunt down a container or a kit beforehand. You'll spend the afternoon putting yours together, and you take it home when you're finished. It's a hands-on session, and since it runs for three hours, there's plenty of time to get it right without feeling rushed.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Kansas City and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
