Alternative rock band Everclear, led by Art Alexakis, performs live at The Truman, supported by American Hi-Fi.
Everclear play The Truman on Sunday, November 8, as part of their Lucky 7 Tour. They're bringing American Hi-Fi along for the bill, so you'll get two bands from the same era in one night.
Everclear has been around since 1991, when founder, vocalist, and guitarist Art Alexakis started the group in Portland. They broke through with their platinum debut Sparkle and Fade in 1995, and since then they've put out 11 studio albums—four of which went Gold or Platinum. Over the years they've sold more than 6 million records and put 12 songs in the Top 40, including "Santa Monica" and "Father of Mine," the latter of which earned them a Grammy nomination in 1998. Alexakis also runs the annual Summerland Tour, which brings together '90s alt-rock acts.
There's a bit more to the band's current run than just the music. Alexakis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2019, and since then he's donated one dollar from every ticket sold to charities like the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society. On stage, the touring lineup includes Dave French, Freddy Herrera, and drummer Brian Nolan—who also plays in American Hi-Fi.
