Alt-country musician Dylan Earl and folk singer-songwriter Willi Carlisle perform at Knuckleheads.
Dylan Earl plays Knuckleheads on Saturday, October 10, with Willi Carlisle opening. The show starts at 7 PM at 2715 Rochester Ave in Kansas City.
Earl was born in Louisiana and now lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He works in alt-country, and his music draws on nostalgia, land history, and a progressive take on country and western, delivered with a wry wit and a bit of irreverence. He's found a place in both mainstream and alternative circles as an original voice, and he's been called an "alt-country hippie."
Sharing the bill is Willi Carlisle, a folk singer-songwriter from Kansas who also lives in Arkansas. He blends traditional, punk, and country styles. A poetic storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Carlisle writes about queer life and rural America. His albums include Peculiar, Missouri, Critterland, and Winged Victory, and he's a USA Fellowship recipient. Both artists have roots in the region and a connection to the Arkansas landscape, so the pairing makes a lot of sense.
