A monthly Creative Night craft session at the Kansas City Public Library where participants create Day of the Dead ofrendas with provided materials and instruction.
Creative Night is back at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Wednesday, October 21, and this time the focus is Las Ofrendas Dia De Muertos. It's a craft session centered on making ofrendas for the Day of the Dead, the altars built to honor and remember family and friends who've passed.
If you're not familiar with the series, Creative Night is a monthly program at the Plaza Branch that runs on the third Wednesday of every month. Each session has a different theme, and the library provides the materials and the instruction, so you don't need any previous experience to join in. You're also welcome to bring your own project and work on it alongside other creative people in the room, which makes it as much about the company as the crafting.
This particular session takes place in the Large Meeting Room at the Plaza Branch, from 6:30 to 8 PM. Because it's part of the monthly series, it's one of those things you can drop into without having a background in the subject—they'll walk you through the process of putting together an ofrenda, so you can come as you are. Just keep in mind that an RSVP is required to take part, so you'll want to sign up ahead of time rather than just showing up.

It's a mid-week evening, an hour and a half long, and it falls on the third Wednesday of the month, just like every other Creative Night. The session runs from 6:30 to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 21, in the Large Meeting Room at the Plaza Branch.
