Concert by the Kansas City alt-pop punk band Color Code at Janitor's Closet.
Color Code play Janitor's Closet on Saturday, October 10, starting at 7:30 PM. They're an alt-pop punk band from right here in Kansas City, and this is a local show on a Saturday night.
If you're not familiar with them, their sound pulls from a wide stretch of the alternative spectrum. They cite The Story So Far, Staind, Paramore, and Breaking Benjamin as influences, so you can get a sense of the ground they cover—the punchy energy of pop punk alongside the heavier, moodier side of alt-rock. The lyrics tend to stick to relatable territory, focusing on self-growth and loss.
There's a bit of a story to how they came together. The group formed at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic around founding members Josh on vocals and Corbin on guitar. From there they grew to include Jacob on guitar and Kay on drums, so the lineup you'll see on stage is a four-piece. Being a Kansas City band, they're playing in their own backyard for this one.
