Candlelight: Coldplay & Imagine Dragons

The Fountain City Quartet is taking over The Sanctuary - Unity Temple on the Plaza on Friday, November 20, for a Candlelight tribute to Coldplay and Imagine Dragons. It's part of the Candlelight Concerts in Kansas City 2026-2027 series, and as the name suggests, the whole thing is performed under the glow of candlelight. It's a tribute show, so it's not affiliated with the artists themselves.

The program is split between the two bands. From Coldplay, the quartet is planning Clocks, Something Just Like This, Adventure of a Lifetime, Fix You, The Scientist, and A Sky Full of Stars. From Imagine Dragons, they're bringing Radioactive, Eyes Closed, Nice to Meet You, Follow You, Bad Liar, and Believer. Both are tentative, so the setlist might shift a bit by the time the night rolls around.

The venue is as much a part of the evening as the music. The Sanctuary at Unity Temple on the Plaza is a historic temple completed in 1950, with a capacity of 1,262. It's known for its architecture—a six-story bell tower, historic pipe organs, and vibrant stained-glass windows, including the 'Love Window'.

Logistics: The show starts at 6:30 PM and runs for 60 minutes. Doors open an hour before, and there's no entry once it starts, so you'll want to be in your seat before the first note. Tickets start at $23. It's recommended for ages 8 and up, and anyone under 16 needs to be with an adult. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone.
