A candlelight concert where the Fountain City Quartet reimagines 90s hip-hop hits played on strings at The Sanctuary - Unity Temple on the Plaza.
Candlelight: 90s Hip-Hop on Strings comes to The Sanctuary - Unity Temple on the Plaza on Saturday, October 17, with a second date on Saturday, November 14. Both shows start at 8:45 PM. The Fountain City Quartet takes the stage for each, playing 90s hip-hop hits on strings under the glow of candlelight.
It's a tribute concert, so you'll hear the songs you know rather than the original recordings. The set runs about 60 minutes, and since it's a string ensemble, the beats and hooks of the 90s get a different treatment than the versions you've probably got on your playlists. The evening is billed as a tribute experience and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the original artists, their estates, or official representatives.
Doors open an hour before the show, and there's no entry once it's begun, so you'll want to be in your seat by 8:45 PM. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone, so arriving early is your best bet for a good spot. The organizers recommend the audience be aged 8 and over, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
