A family-friendly Halloween trick-or-treat extravaganza with costumed animal characters, interactive activities and treats at the Kansas City Zoo.
Boo at the Zoo returns to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. It's the zoo's annual trick-or-treat event, which they describe as a not-so-scary, safe Halloween experience for families. For the weekend, the zoo transforms into a Halloween wonderland, with a crew of costumed helpers, candy handlers, and trail guides to lead the way. If you're looking for a way to get the kids into costume without the usual neighborhood trek, this is a good spot for it.
Throughout the event, families can meet animal characters dressed up for Halloween, and there are interactive activities and treats along the way. Trick-or-treat bags are handed out at the entrance for children 12 and under, so you don't have to bring your own. The event is presented by Ford, with candy provided by Russell Stover and support in part from the City of Kansas City, Missouri Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund. If you're interested in getting involved, the zoo also offers the chance to volunteer as a helper.
