Concert by Texas singer-songwriter Bleu Edmondson at the Knuckleheads venue in Kansas City.
Bleu Edmondson plays Knuckleheads on Sunday, November 1, with his full band. It's a Sunday night show, and he's bringing the whole group with him rather than playing solo.
Edmondson's a Texas songwriter who started writing his own songs at 19, got his first guitar on his 21st birthday, and had a band together by 22. He wrote to the legendary producer Lloyd Maines and released his first album, Southland, which gave him the hits "50 Dollars and a Flask of Crown" and "Travellin Man" and set him off in the Texas music scene. He followed that with Lost Boy, an 11-song release he calls his best work yet, featuring songs like "Jesus Is Crying," "American Saint," and "The Echo (Maybe Tonight)."
He's cited Bruce Springsteen, Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, and The Rolling Stones as influences, and he co-wrote "Another Morning After the Night Before" with Ray Wylie Hubbard. That mix of Texas songwriting and classic rock and roll is a good way to get a handle on what he does. With a full band behind him, you'll hear the songs as a group rather than just a singer and a guitar.

The venue is Knuckleheads, at 2715 Rochester Ave. Raul Malo of The Mavericks once described it by saying, "When I try to tell someone about what Knuckleheads is like, I can't. I find it easier to buy them an airline ticket, a hotel room and let them come see for themselves." The show starts at 6 PM, and general admission tickets are $33.37.
