Movie night screening of Edward Scissorhands at Atlas9, part of a weekly Tim Burton film series.
Atlas9 is screening Edward Scissorhands on Wednesday, October 14, from 7 to 9 PM, with doors opening at 6:30. The 1990 Tim Burton classic is rated PG-13, and it's part of a month-long series the venue is running throughout October, with a different Burton film every Wednesday.
If you haven't been to Atlas9 yet, it's a bit more than just a cinema. It's a 45,000-square-foot complex that used to be a 1990s movie house, and the whole place is built around a narrative: scenes from forgotten films have come to life inside, and the space now operates under a shadowy government partnership. You can lean into that story, following clues and solving puzzles, or just wander through the labyrinth of installations, live performances, and interactive tech. There's themed food, drinks, and retail on site, and the movie itself runs in a 240-seat auditorium.

Since the theater is part of a larger immersive experience, you can make a whole evening of itβhang out in the installations before the film starts and stick around afterward. Just keep in mind that seats aren't reserved and capacity is limited, so arriving early is a good call if you want a specific spot. The screening runs from 7 to 9 PM, doors at 6:30, at 1100 N. 98th St., Kansas City, KS 66111.
