Blues and rock concert by Anthony Gomes at Knuckleheads.
Anthony Gomes plays Knuckleheads on Friday, December 18, at 8 PM. He's a Canadian vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and producer from Toronto who works right at the crossroads of blues and rock.
He's been around the scene a long time. He caught B.B. King's attention when he was 14 and has since shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Heart and Sammy Hagar. His audiences have included Morgan Freeman, John Goodman and Vince Vaughn. In 2019, Guitar World named him one of the 30 best blues guitarists in the world today, and his 2018 album Peace, Love & Loud Guitars hit number one on the iTunes Top Blues Albums Chart. He's also topped the Billboard Blues Chart at number one, tallied tens of millions of streams and released his 14th studio album, Praise the Loud, on Rat Pak Records in April 2025.
As for where the sound comes from, he cites Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen as early influences. Fans and critics have compared his showmanship to that of J. Giels. The set will be a night of blues and rock, with Gomes handling the vocals and the guitar.
