Greenwood Social Hall presents A Tale Of Two, an award-winning Americana duo from Nashville, TN, blending blues and Southern storytelling.
A Tale Of Two play Greenwood Social Hall on Friday, October 16, bringing their Nashville-based Americana to Kansas City. The duo consists of vocalist Stephanie Adlington and guitarist Aaron Lessard, and they've spent the last few years building a name for themselves in the Americana and blues circuits.
Their sound pulls from a few different directions at once: Americana and blues melodies mixed with Southern storytelling. If you're trying to place them, they name Tom Waits, Ray LaMontagne, Patsy Cline, and Hank Williams Sr. as influences, and they've opened for Mary Gauthier, Grayson Capps, and Peter Mulvey. The songwriting has picked up some recognition along the way, too. They won the 2024 Josie Music Award for Best Duo/Group, were 2022 Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest Finalists, and were named an official Americanafest showcase artist in 2024.
Much of the set will come from their latest album, Renegade, which arrived on October 4, 2024. It was produced by Jon Estes, who also plays bass on the record. The show takes place at Greenwood Social Hall, an intimate performance space and cultural hub housed in a historic Black church in Kansas City, where artists and audiences gather for storytelling, music, and community.
