Live show by Vic Bondi And His Issues, with The Crosses and Blank Schatz, at State Street Pub.
Vic Bondi And His Issues play State Street Pub on Wednesday, October 21, with The Crosses and Blank Schatz sharing the bill. It's the latest project from Vic Bondi, the founding force behind Chicago's early-'80s hardcore band Articles of Faith, which he started in 1981 as Direct Drive. After Articles of Faith broke up in 1985, Bondi fronted Report Suspicious Activity, a project that featured J Robbins of Jawbox, Dead Ending, Derek Grant of Alkaline Trio and Joe Principe of Rise Against, and Tom Morello's Weatherman project. In 2019, he formed Redshift, which he describes as a "surf band for the apocalypse."
This new band draws on every phase of his career alongside new material, released on the self-titled EP Vic Bondi And His Issues via Alternative Tentacles. He's rounded out by Seattle music veterans Fred Speakman on guitar, Tully Potter on bass, and Adam Dalquist on drums. The set will pull from that new record and the work that came before it.
