The Rocky Horror Show Live

The Rocky Horror Show is coming to The Athenaeum this October, staged by Zach & Zack and the Athenaeum Foundation. It's their fifth time putting on the live musical, so they've got a fair bit of history with this one. The show follows Brad and Janet, who find themselves stranded on a dark and stormy night; a flat tire brings them to the home of the fabulous and mysterious Dr. Frank-N-Furter, and they soon meet Frank's newest creation and experience the craziest evening of their lives. It's a production that's hard to describe in a few sentences without giving too much away, but it's built around that one night at Frank's place.

There are eight performances in total, spread across three weekends. It kicks off with a preview on Thursday, October 15, at 8:30 PM, followed by opening night on Friday, October 16, at 7:30 PM, and a Saturday, October 17, show also at 7:30 PM. The second weekend is Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, both at 7:30 PM. The final run is Thursday, October 29, Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, all at 7:30 PM. That last one lands right on Halloween, which is a fitting spot for a show like this.

Everything takes place at the Basile Theatre inside the Athenaeum, at 401 E. Michigan Street in downtown Indianapolis. Tickets run from $20 to $40, depending on where you sit. If you're planning to go, keep in mind that the preview on the 15th starts a bit later than the rest of the run, so check your time before you head out.
