The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra presents a woodwind quintet concert as part of the ISO Chamber Series at the University of Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is bringing its woodwind section to the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center on Monday, November 9, for a woodwind quintet performance. It's part of the ISO Chamber Series, which also goes by the name ISO at UIndy, and the whole thing is sponsored by Dr. Christian Wolf and Elaine Holden-Wolf.
On the program, the winds of the ISO will play an eclectic set for woodwind quintet, and one of the pieces they're bringing is Samuel Barber's Summer Music, a work that's earned a reputation as a staple of the woodwind repertoire. The rest of the program is described as eclectic, so you can expect a mix of styles rather than one single mood. It's a chance to hear the orchestra's woodwind players step away from the full ensemble and play in a smaller, more intimate group.
