Free storytime for babies up to 24 months with books, songs, interaction and playtime at the Glendale Branch.
Babies Storytime is back at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, November 24, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. It's a session built for babies up to 24 months and an adult, so you'll be right there with your little one throughout. The morning is a mix of books, songs, and interaction, and it doesn't end when the reading does—each session is followed by playtime with special toys designed specifically for babies, so the kids can keep moving while the adults catch up.
If you're new to the branch, it's worth knowing where it sits. The Glendale Branch serves the Broad Ripple community, which has had library service at various sites since 1930, with its first stand-alone branch opening in 1949. For a while, the library was inside Glendale Mall—the 2000 building was actually the country's first full-service library located in a major shopping mall. In 2024, it moved to a new 24,800-square-foot space at the site of the former John Strange Elementary School, so the storytime happens in a building that was a school long before it was a library.
