Weekly Wednesday storytime for toddlers aged 2 to 4 with books, songs, dancing, crafts and playtime at the Glendale Branch.
Storytime for Toddlers is running at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday mornings this autumn. The sessions are built for kids aged 2 to 4 and their grown-ups, mixing books, songs, dancing, and crafts with playtime and interaction. It's the kind of thing that keeps a toddler occupied for a full hour, and since it's a series, you can drop in for one or make it a regular Wednesday morning thing.
The Glendale Branch is at 3660 East 62nd Street, and it's a relatively new spot. The branch serves the Glendale and Broad Ripple community, which has had library service at various sites since 1930. The area's first stand-alone library opened in 1949, and a larger branch moved to Broad Ripple Park in 1986. The original Glendale Branch opened inside Glendale Mall in 2000, making it the first full-service library in the country located in a major shopping mall. In 2024, the current 24,800-square-foot branch opened on the site of the former John Strange Elementary School.
If your little one needs a bit of extra support, the library provides sensory items for its programs. Anyone who needs them is encouraged to ask the branch about the accommodations available for a specific session. Admission is free, so there's no ticket to worry about—just show up with your toddler.
