Preschool storytime for children ages 3 to 6 at the Eagle branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, with a hands-on activity after the reading.
Preschool Storytime is back at the Eagle Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's a half-hour session aimed at families with children ages 3 to 6, so it's a good fit if you've got a preschooler at home and are looking for a mid-morning outing.
The format is straightforward: a story read aloud, followed by a hands-on activity that lets the kids work with what they just heard. It's a short window—thirty minutes start to finish—which usually works well for that age group before they start getting restless. No registration is required, so you can just show up with your kids and settle in.
If you haven't been to the Eagle Branch in a while, it's worth knowing the building is newer than the branch's history. Eagle first opened in 1960 as a storefront at 30th Street and Lafayette Road, the first branch in the Indianapolis Public Library system to be located in a shopping center. A stand-alone facility at 3325 Lowry Road opened in 1970 with 12,000 square feet, and on June 1, 2019, it was replaced by the current 20,000-square-foot building at 3905 Moller Road. That's where you'll find this session.
