The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs the thrilling score of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl live to the film, as part of their Film Series.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra brings Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to the Hilbert Circle Theatre on March 20 and 21, 2027. It's a live-to-picture concert, which means the orchestra is right there on stage playing the score in time with the movie as it screens. The whole thing is licensed by Disney Concerts, and the I.S.O. is handling the music live so you hear the difference and feel it, too.
The film is the one that started the whole franchise, and the music is Klaus Badelt's score, based on themes by Hans Zimmer. It's the kind of sound that does a lot of the heavy lifting for the movieโthe mystery, the intrigue, the sword fights, and the treasure hunting all lean on it. With the orchestra playing it live, the action gets a bit more presence than it does on a home system.
This is part of the I.S.O.'s Film Series, and Pirates isn't the only one in the lineup. The series also includes Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert, Disney's The Lion King: Live in Concert, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert, so if you're into movie scores, there are a few to choose from over the course of the season.
