Day before the Indianapolis 500 with autograph sessions from past winners, the public drivers' meeting on the pit lane and a concert in downtown Indianapolis.
Legends Day returns to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 29, 2027, the day before the Indianapolis 500. Presented by Firestone, it's widely known as the cheapest way to get inside the IMS oval during race weekend, which makes it a good entry point if you're not planning on spending the whole weekend there.
The day is built around the race's legends: past winners and storied veterans return to sign autographs and meet fans. The centerpiece is the Public Drivers' Meeting on the pit lane, where the 33-car starting field gathers for final pre-race instructions and awards. It's one of the few times you'll see the entire grid in one place before they actually take to the track. The event traditionally draws crowds of around 30,000.
If you're staying for the evening, there's the Firestone Legends Day Concert, but keep in mind it's a separate downtown event at Everwise Amphitheater in White River State Park. Your IMS ticket doesn't get you into the concert, so that's a second thing to plan for if you want both.
