Lady Bits returns to IF Theatre on Friday, December 4, as part of Betty Rage Productions' comedy series. It's a night that pulls from Indianapolis' femme comedy scene, with Callie Burk-Hartz hosting the evening.
The format is a mix of stand-up, improv, and sketch, and it's built around a rotating cast. Because the improv scenes are new every night, the show never plays out the same way twice. The performers spend the evening solving mysteries, improvising musicals, and delivering what the organizers call a "Top Shelf" show. It's the kind of thing that works better if you've seen it more than once, since the cast changes and the scenes are made up on the spot.
Lady Bits has become a regular at IF Theatre, located at 719 E. St. Clair Street. The venue is home to the IndyFringe Festival, presented by Everwise Credit Union, and has hosted nearly 60 producing companies for more than 2,000 performances over the last five years. It's often described as the city's cultural hub for "what's next" in the performing arts, and Lady Bits is listed as one of the tried-and-true Spotlight Season favorites, alongside OnyxFest and Defiance Comedy's holiday musical.
