The Indiana Pacers begin their 2026-27 NBA season with a home game against the Dallas Mavericks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Indiana Pacers open their 2026-27 season at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, October 23, at 7 PM, when they take on the Dallas Mavericks. It's the start of a 39-game home slate in Indianapolis, part of a full regular season that marks the team's 60th overall and their 51st in the NBA.
The big story this year is the return of Tyrese Haliburton. He missed the entire previous campaign after a season-ending injury in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, so having him back on the floor is the one thing most fans have been waiting for since last spring. He'll be returning to a familiar setup: Rick Carlisle is still head coach, with Kevin Pritchard as president and Chad Buchanan as general manager.
There's a new name on the roster, too. The Pacers acquired the draft rights to Braden Smith, who went 38th overall, from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Kam Jones and future second-round picks. He'll be joining a squad that's finally whole again with Haliburton back in the lineup.
