A nature-themed story session for children aged 2 to 8, followed by a garden exploration in Blake's Children's Garden.
Garden Storytime is at the Garfield Park Conservatory on Friday, October 16, at 10 AM. It's geared toward kids ages 2 to 8, and the whole thing is free. The group starts by listening to a nature-themed story in Blake's Children's Garden, and once the story is over, the kids get to explore the garden themselves. If the weather turns, the group moves inside to a classroom, so it's not something you have to skip just because it's raining.
It's part of the Conservatory's family programming for the summer and autumn, which runs alongside a few other things. There's a Carnivorous Plant Show going on, with plants available for purchase, and a Predatory Plants Presentation that's free to attend. If you're in the neighborhood, you might also run into Dollar Menu Night, where residents can harvest and eat vegetables from a community garden.
