Festival of ten-minute plays by emerging playwrights, celebrating the short play as a bold and economical theatrical form.
Fast & Fearless: A 10-minute Play Festival opens at District Theatre on Friday, October 23, and runs through Sunday, October 25. It's a festival built around the ten-minute play, which the organizers describe as one of theatre's most exciting art forms: bold new voices taking risks and stories unfolding with breathtaking economy, delivering a complete theatrical journey in just ten minutes.
This year's bill features seven world premieres, all presented in that same ten-minute format. The festival is billed as a showcase of emerging playwrights, and the program leans on their imagination, urgency, humor, and humanity to produce plays that may make you laugh, catch you off guard, or break your heart. Because each piece is so short, you get to see seven different stories in a single evening, and since they're all world premieres, you're seeing them for the first time.
