Weekly Tuesday morning storytime session for babies, toddlers and preschoolers at the Wayne Branch Library.
Family Storytime is back at the Wayne Branch Library on Tuesday, December 8, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. It's part of the Indianapolis Public Library's children's story time program, and the session is aimed at babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, so it's a good fit if you've got little ones in the house. The session runs every Tuesday at 10:30 AM, which makes it easy to turn into a regular morning routine rather than a one-off.
The library itself has a bit of history behind it. The Wayne Branch first opened in December 1969 as a storefront in a shopping center at 7341 Rockville Road. That space was enlarged in 1973, and in 1984, a permanent 13,500-square-foot building opened—the one it still occupies today. A $1.1 million renovation in 2020 added more seating, activity space, study rooms, and a quiet reading area, all while keeping the split design that separates the children's and adult wings. That layout works well for a morning story time, as the kids' side is its own distinct area.
