Saxophonist and composer Sean Imboden presents original chamber music for saxophone and string quartet in the Duckwall Artist Series.
Sean Imboden brings his Music for String Quartet and Saxophone to the Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 PM. It's a double-duty night for him: he's both the saxophonist on stage and the composer behind the music.
The bulk of the program is original chamber music written for saxophone and string quartet, so you'll hear the saxophone playing against a full string section. Alongside that, he'll perform works for unaccompanied saxophone, which means he'll take the stage on his own for a few pieces. Between the two, the evening covers the saxophone in two very different settings—one as part of a larger ensemble and one entirely solo.
