High school marching band competition with preliminary rounds on Friday and Saturday, and finals on Saturday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The BOA Indianapolis Super Regional takes over Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. It's one of those weekends when high school marching bands move into the stadium, and this one kicks off a busy stretch for the Indiana circuit. The state season keeps going from here: the ISSMA Open Class State Finals are on Saturday, November 7, and the BOA Grand National Championships run from Thursday, November 12 to Saturday, November 14. Both of those are at the same stadium, so the turf is going to be seeing a lot of marching bands over the next month.
More than 70 high school marching bands from around Indiana compete in the preliminary round. Prelims run all day Friday and through Saturday afternoon, and only the top bands advance to compete one more time in the Super Regional Finals on Saturday night. Ball State University's marching band performs in exhibition at the end of the prelims, so if you're there for the day, you'll get a college band in the mix too.
