Free Spanish bilingual storytime session for preschoolers, babies and toddlers at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Bilingual Storytime is back at the Glendale Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. It's a Spanish-language session, so it's a good fit if you're raising kids with two languages or just want to introduce them to a new one. The half-hour format is short enough to keep little ones engaged without wearing them out.
Storytime is aimed at preschoolers, families, babies and toddlers, so it works whether you've got a crawler or a kid who's already talking. The session is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund through a grant to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
If you haven't spent much time at the Glendale Branch, it's worth knowing the spot. The branch serves the Glendale/Broad Ripple community, which has had library service at various sites since 1930, with the first stand-alone library opening in 1949. The original Glendale Branch opened in 2000 inside Glendale Mall and became the country's first full-service library located in a major shopping mall. In 2024, a new 24,800-square-foot branch opened at the site of the former John Strange Elementary School, so this is the newer space.
