Classical concert by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jun Märkl with Michael Davidman on piano, featuring works by Beethoven and Mahler.
Michael Davidman takes the piano at the Hilbert Circle Theatre on Thursday, October 15, for a Coffee Classical concert. He's joined by conductor Jun Märkl and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, with the program built around Beethoven and Mahler. It's part of the orchestra's classical programming, endowed by Roche Diagnostics.
The evening starts with a "Words on Music" prelude from the host, which sets the stage before the music kicks in. There's one 20-minute intermission during the set. The concert runs from October 15 through October 17, so if Thursday doesn't work, you've got Friday and Saturday to choose from.
The venue is the Hilbert Circle Theatre at 45 Monument Circle, right in the heart of downtown. It's a place with a bit of a story: it was once the first film palace in the Midwest and a stage for Vaudeville and early jazz greats before it became the orchestra's home. Since then, it's hosted everything from gala dinners to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon during Super Bowl 2012, so it's seen its share of different crowds over the years.

If you're planning to go, keep in mind that the program is still being finalized, so the exact pieces on the bill aren't confirmed just yet. The dates are October 15, 16, and 17, all at the Hilbert Circle Theatre.
