Concert by AJ McLean, founding member of the Backstreet Boys, playing his solo material under the name Alexander James on The Better Man Tour.
AJ McLean plays Clowes Memorial Hall on Friday, November 13, at 8 PM. He's performing under the name Alexander James, and the show is part of his The Better Man Tour.
Most of us know him as a founding member of the Backstreet Boys, the best-selling boy band in history, with more than 180 million records sold and gold or platinum certifications in 46 countries. He's been with them since 1992, contributing to chart-toppers like Millennium (1999), Black & Blue (2000), and DNA (2019). In recent years, he's played landmark Las Vegas and Sphere residencies with his bandmates, appeared on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, hosted Netflix's Building The Band, and co-headlined shows with *NSYNC's Joey Fatone.
But this is a solo date. He's built a separate career outside the group, with the album Have It All in 2010 and the country-influenced Long Road, and he's a Grammy nominee. These days he records as Alexander James, with the EP hi, my name is Alex and the album My Name Is Alexander James among his solo titles. This fall he released a new LP, Sex, Love & Music, which is what he's touring now.
