Z-RO

Z-RO is playing the Reliant Arena on Sunday, November 22, 2026. He's not coming alone: the lineup also includes Slim Thug and Paul Wall, so it's a full Houston bill on one stage. The show closes out a car show and culture fest presented by Slim Thug himself.

If you're not familiar with the name, Z-RO—born Joseph Wayne McVey—is one of the city's most distinct voices. He's known for a bluesy, introspective brand of Southern hip-hop that blends hardcore rap with R&B, delivered in a baritone that's hard to mistake for anyone else. He rose to prominence as part of the Screwed Up Click, the loose collective of Houston rappers associated with the late DJ Screw, a connection he claimed on the 2002 album Screwed Up Click Representa. His run of records in the early 2000s started with Look What You Did to Me in 1998 and later included The Ghetto Gospel and Unappreciated. The New York Times once named him one of America's most underrated rappers.

He's worked with Trae tha Truth and appeared on Bun B's Get Throwed alongside Pimp C, Jay-Z, and Young Jeezy. Having Slim Thug and Paul Wall on the same bill brings together three figures from the same Houston scene, and since the whole thing is the closing act for Slim Thug's car show and culture fest, the night is built around the city's car culture.

The show starts at 6:30 PM, but there's an awards ceremony kicking off at 5 PM if you want to get there early. The venue is the Reliant Arena at 1 NRG Pkwy, Houston, TX 77054.
