Puerto Rican urban music pioneer Yandel fuses his reggaeton hits with a live philharmonic orchestra on the Yandel Sinfónico USA Tour.
Yandel plays the Toyota Center on Saturday, October 10, at 8 PM. This is a stop on his Yandel Sinfónico USA Tour, which does something you don't usually see with reggaeton: it puts his hits in front of a live philharmonic orchestra. He's the first artist in his category to do it.
If you're not familiar with the name, Yandel—born Llandel Veguilla Malavé in Puerto Rico—is one of the figures who helped build reggaeton. He rose to prominence as half of Wisin & Yandel, the duo that teamed up in 1998 and later founded WY Records in 2005. That same year, they put out Pa'l Mundo, their fifth and most successful album, which hit number one on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. He went solo in 2013 with De Líder a Leyenda, which also debuted at number one, and later released Dangerous, collaborating along the way with Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Akon. His solo work blends traditional dembow beats with electronic dance music, R&B-infused melodies, and sophisticated vocal arrangements.

For this tour, the reggaeton hits are reimagined with the orchestra, and the set balances his solo catalog with Wisin & Yandel classics. The shows run about 90 minutes to two hours, with elaborate stage design, lighting, and pyrotechnics. Tickets are $76.
