Metalcore band Wage War performs live at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston, with support from We Came as Romans, Varials and Cane Hill.
Wage War are playing White Oak Music Hall on Monday, October 26, with a full supporting cast. They aren't coming alone: We Came as Romans, Varials, and Cane Hill are all on the bill, so it's a four-band night rather than a single headliner. The show starts at 7 PM.
Wage War formed in Ocala, Florida, back in 2013. They signed to Fearless Records the old-fashioned wayāby sending a song to the label. For their 2015 debut Blueprints and their sophomore album Deadweight, they worked with producer Andrew Wade and A Day To Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon. The current lineup is fronted by vocalist Briton Bond, with guitarist and vocalist Cody Quistad, guitarist Seth Blake, bassist Chris Gaylord, and drummer Stephen Kluesener.
Their songs pull from both personal and political ground, and they've spent their career resisting being tied to any single genre, even though they're frequently called metalcore. That's a fair enough label for the heavy side of things, but the band themselves describe their work as something that doesn't fit neatly into one box. Between the clean vocals and the heavier sections, there's enough going on that the metalcore tag only tells part of the story.

With We Came as Romans, Varials, and Cane Hill filling out the rest of the bill, the night is built around four bands rather than one. It's a Monday show, which is a bit of a change from the usual weekend run, so keep that in mind if you're planning your week. The whole thing kicks off at 7 PM at White Oak Music Hall, 2915 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009.
