A weekend of Halloween fun with candy stations, slime, haunted house building, and face painting for all ages at the Children's Museum Houston.
Children's Museum Houston is turning into the 'BOOseum' for the whole month of October, and the Trick or Treat! candy stations are one of the main things to hit. The museum is at 1500 Binz St, and it's open October 1 through 31, closed Mondays. The candy stations run on a few different days: Thursday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 8 PM; Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 AM to 5 PM; Sunday, Oct. 25, from 9 AM to 5 PM; Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 8 PM; and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 AM to 8 PM.
Beyond the candy, there's a few other things running throughout the month. The Power Science Lab has glitter slime, the Chevron Maker Annex lets you build your own haunted house, and the Design Studio is set up as a face painting studio. There's also 'Happy House!', a special Thursday Free Family Night with music from Radio ONE's DJs and monstrous characters.
For a bit of context, the museum opened in 1980 in a whimsical building by architect Robert Venturi. It's a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the trajectories of children in Greater Houston through innovative, child-centered learning. It picked up the 2024 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, won Good Housekeeping's 'Best Family Travel Award' four years in a row from 2023 to 2026, and was voted 'Houston's Best Museum' by the Houston Chronicle in 2023 and 2024.

Entry is General Admission, and the museum is open most of October except Mondays. If you're just coming for the candy stations, you've got five different windows to choose from, including a late run on Halloween itself, Oct. 31, from 9 AM to 8 PM.
