Exhibition at Sabine Street Studios exploring transformation through painting, sculpture, photography, performance and digital media, with a performance by Amanda Silva.
Sabine Street Studios is hosting Transformative Teal, a group exhibition that runs from August 6 through October 10, 2026. The show takes its name from the color teal, which the curators describe as a blend of blue's tranquility and green's vitality, and uses it as a starting point to look at change, fluidity and renewal. It's a big one: the work fills three gallery spaces in the building.
The lineup is an eclectic mix of artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, performance and digital media. You'll find Ksenia Kozhenkova, Kelly Best Bourgeois, Sara Meyer, Sarah Rolfvondenbaumen, Sheetal Dalwadi-Otia, Donna Carnahan, T. D. Paul Studio, Xavier Nguyen, Steve J. Smith, Pothik Chatterjee, Giselle Bueno, Shital Dalwadi, Toto, Romeo C. Robinson, Ana Sanchez, Anjali Nanda, Audrey Nguyen, Sneha Bhavsar, Roxy Wuz Here Art, Amanda T. Silva, Eric Coan, Justin Earl Grant and XZZX. The pieces touch on identity, healing, nature and society, and since they're spread across so many different mediums, the show changes depending on which room you're in.
There's an opening reception on Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 8 PM, and it's built around a performance called Transformative by Sabine artist Amanda Silva, who sheds her skin like a snake. Live music for the evening comes from Aurum Son, led by Sonia Flores. After that, the exhibition stays on view through October 10, from 9 AM to 5 PM daily.
