Toddler Tuesday - Toy Story

Discovery Green is bringing Toy Story to the Cullen Veranda on Tuesday, October 27, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. It's part of Toddler Tuesday, the park's series for toddlers and their caregivers: four themed mornings of interactive story time in the park's outdoor setting, each with a different book and character. This one centers on Toy Story 4: You've Got a Friend in Me, with Woody and Buzz appearing as costumed characters.

There's a lot going on in one session. Students from Kinder HSPVA read the story, and the character meet-and-greets follow. Toddler Towns provides soft play equipment, Collab Lab runs activities, and the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation donates a book giveaway. The whole series draws on a wide range of community partners, including the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation, Baylor College of Medicine, Collab Lab, Frame Dance, and Kinder High School for the Performing Arts. Costumes are encouraged, so if your little one has a favorite outfit, this is a good time to bring it out.

Discovery Green itself is a 12-acre village green in the heart of Houston, with two restaurants, water fun for kids, a one-acre lake open for kayaking, dog runs, and a multi-use amphitheater. The Cullen Veranda is at 1500 McKinney St. Entry is free.
