Toddlers and caregivers enjoy interactive story time, character meet-and-greets, and activities with Houston sports mascots at Discovery Green.
Discovery Green is hosting another Toddler Tuesday on Tuesday, October 20, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This one is themed around Houston, so it's a good morning to bring the little ones and lean into the local side of things.
The morning kicks off with a reading of Goodnight Houston, read by students from Kinder HSPVA. That's the core of Toddler Tuesdays: an interactive story time led by students from the Kinder High School for the Performing Arts, paired with costumed character meet-and-greets. For this Houston-centric edition, the characters are Houston sports mascots, so your toddler can meet some of the city's most recognizable faces. There's also a book swap going on, and the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation provides a book giveaway for the kids.
Beyond the reading, there's plenty to keep them moving. Toddler Towns brings in soft play equipment, and Collab Lab has hands-on activities. You'll also find movement and dance classes led by Zumbini with ShellyD or Baby Bollywood by T2 Dance Company, and a splash pad if the weather is right for it. It's designed for toddlers and their caregivers to hang out together, and grown-ups are welcome to join in on the activities rather than just watching from the sidelines.
