A burlesque show featuring dance performances by local and international stars, followed by a live jazz jam session on the patio.
The Short and Sweet Speakeasy is back at AvantGarden on Friday, October 16, with shows at 8 PM and 10 PM. It's a burlesque night that pairs dance numbers with a live jazz jam on the patio afterward, and the whole thing runs about ninety minutes. The lineup rotates, so who you see depends on the night, but the regular cast includes The Abby Cadabra, Emma Vauxdevil, Valentina J'adore, Cara Cherie, Dahlia Derringer, Nikki Knockout, Mystic Lotus, and Bailey Bunny, with weekly special guests added to the mix.
AvantGarden is a vintage-style wedding space built in 1896 that also hosts live music, comedy, and poetry. The bar is fully stocked with craft cocktails, beer, and wine, and they serve tacos while you wait. A few things to keep in mind before you head out: entry is restricted to over-21s with valid ID, the dress code is smart-casual, and street parking nearby is limited, so you might want to leave a little early. One more detail: a session is cancelled if fewer than six people attend.
