Late night standup comedy open mic at The Riot Comedy Club, Houston's premier destination for stand-up comedy.
The Riot Comedy Club hosts its late-night standup comedy open mic on Tuesday, December 29, at its Washington Avenue spot in Houston. It's part of a regular Monday and Tuesday run that splits the night into two separate sessions, so if you're looking for something to do after dinner, you've got a choice between the early show and the late one.
The early session, the Night Standup Comedy Open Mic, kicks off at 9 PM. The late-night session follows at 10 PM. Because it's an open mic, the stage is open to comics coming in to work out new material, which means you'll hear a mix of established local names and people just starting out. It's the kind of night where you might catch a polished set from someone you recognize and a rough, first-pass attempt at a new joke in the same hour.
The Riot Comedy Club describes itself as Houston's premier destination for stand-up, and it pairs the live comedy with food and a full bar, so you can eat and drink while you watch. The venue is at 1925 Washington Ave, right in the heart of the city's entertainment district. Since the open mics run every Monday and Tuesday, this isn't a one-offβit's a regular part of their weekly schedule.
