Tai Chi class presented by UTHealth Houston, part of the Fitness in the Park series at Discovery Green.
Tai Chi presented by UTHealth Houston comes to Discovery Green on Thursday, November 12, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's part of the park's Fitness in the Park series, the free outdoor fitness program open to all comers regardless of experience, so you don't need to be a regular to jump in.
The session is led by Angel Quesada, a movement specialist with nearly 30 years of experience. His practice focuses on helping people move with greater ease, strength, balance and confidence while naturally reducing pain and increasing flexibility. Each session invites participants to slow down, reconnect with their bodies and experience the calming, rejuvenating benefits of mindful movement. If you've never tried Tai Chi, this is a low-stakes way to get a feel for it.
The class takes place at the Anheuser-Busch Stage, a state-of-the-art outdoor concert venue with views across Houston's downtown skyline. It's a nice spot to spend an hour, especially when the sun is going down and the city lights are coming on around you. Registration and sign-in are handled on site, so you don't need to book anything in advance—just show up ready to move.
