Concert by the ska-punk band Streetlight Manifesto at Warehouse Live Midtown.
Streetlight Manifesto play Warehouse Live Midtown on Saturday, November 14, at 8 PM. They're a ska-punk band from East Brunswick, New Jersey, formed in 2002 around the songwriting and creative leadership of singer and guitarist Tomas Kalnoky. Several members came to the group already known from the New Jersey ska scene, including bands like Catch 22 and One Cool Guy.
Their debut album, Everything Goes Numb, came out on August 26, 2003, through Victory Records. They played their first headlining show to a sold-out Rutgers University crowd on December 9, 2003. Their second album, a reworking of Catch 22's Keasbey Nights, followed on March 7, 2006, and a third, Somewhere In The Between, arrived on November 13, 2007.
While they've never broken into the mainstream, the band has built a following in alternative circles and regularly sells out its live shows. They describe their performances as brass-heavy and high-energy, pairing technical precision with raw energy on stage. The horn section is a big part of that sound, and the set usually pulls from the catalog they've built over the years.
