Live music session with Amexicun at the Axelrad Beer Garden.
Amexicun plays Axelrad on Thursday, October 15, starting at 7 PM. It's a live music night in the garden, with Amexicun as the bill.
If you haven't spent much time there, Axelrad is a Houston venue housed in the premises of a former grocery store built by the Axelrad family in the early 1920s. The current owners set out to carry on the family tradition of being an open and welcoming place for all. Its expansive garden plays host to a wide range of video art, film screenings, live music, events and festivals, and the room books local, regional and international artists across many genres, from jazz, soul and blues to Latin, indie, electronic, experimental, world, ska, punk, pop, rock and classical.
Regular fixtures include monthly residencies such as Axel-sad, free comedy nights on Punchline Mondays and Sundays, weekly Jazz Wednesdays, Cumbia Libre — Houston's biggest Cumbia dance party — and glitch Garden, a monthly video game and electronic music experience. Amexicun fits right into that mix, and the night is part of the garden's ongoing live music schedule.
