Co-ed intermediate 4's sand volleyball league match at Third Coast Volleyball.
Sportsmonkey is running its 2026 Fall 2 season over at Third Coast Volleyball in Houston, and the Thursday night slot is for co-ed intermediate 4's sand volleyball. If you've played before, you know the drill: four players per side, men and women playing together, and the intermediate level means you're expected to have the basics down—serving, passing, and setting—without things getting too casual. It's a step up from the recreational leagues, so it's a good spot if you're looking for a bit more competition than a backyard game but aren't quite at the tournament level.
The format is doubleheaders, which is the best part of the Sportsmonkey setup. Instead of one game and you're done for the night, you get two matches back-to-back. It means more volleyball for your time and a better chance to find your rhythm—if the first game doesn't go your way, you've got a second one right there to make up for it. Since it's a league, you'll be playing the same teams throughout the season, so you get to know the other crews and keep a running tally of who's actually the best on the sand.
Because it's co-ed, you'll need a mixed roster to get on the court. If you've already got a group of friends who play, this is a straightforward way to get a regular night on the calendar. If you're looking for a team, the league structure makes it easy to slot in with others who are at the same level. It's as much about the social side as the games—the kind of thing that turns into a weekly tradition with a regular crew.
