Annual gala of Spectrum Fusion, a Houston nonprofit that empowers autistic adults through employment, professional development and community opportunities.
Spectrum Fusion is hosting its annual gala, Illuminate, at The Junior League of Houston on Thursday, October 15. It's the biggest fundraising night of the year for the Houston nonprofit, and the proceeds go to its Autism and Innovation Center to fund employment opportunities, creative programming, and community connections for autistic adults.
Spectrum Fusion works to empower autistic adults by building meaningful employment, professional development, and community opportunities. The gala is the primary way they raise the money to keep those programs running. The evening is timed for National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and it's built around highlighting the talents, abilities, and bright futures of the adults the organization serves.
Beyond the gala, the organization has launched other initiatives, including the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase in partnership with WorldFest-Houston. That's part of the same broader focus on creating professional outlets for autistic people to share their work.
