Annual community festival with live music, custom cars, vendors and family-friendly entertainment hosted by Space City Church.
Space City Fest returns to Discovery Green on Sunday, October 25, from 4 to 8 PM. It's an annual community festival hosted by Space City Church, a fall celebration that fills the park with live music, custom cars, vendors, and family-friendly entertainment. The music this year comes from Lizzie Morgan, a worship artist who grew up in her grandparents' church just outside Nashville and started leading worship at age five. She spent four years singing background vocals for Lauren Daigle and has toured with Maverick City Music and Red Worship.
The festival takes place at Discovery Green, a 12-acre village green in the heart of downtown Houston that opened in April 2008 and has since welcomed more than 20 million visitors. The park features sprawling lawns, a one-acre lake open for kayaking, an interactive fountain, a playground, public art, gardens, and an allΓ©e of century-old live oaks. There are two on-site restaurants, The Grove and The Grove Market & Park Provisions. The Discovery Green Conservancy, a nonprofit, works with hundreds of programming partners to present artistic, musical, educational, family-friendly, and health-focused events each year, most free to the public, and raises all the funds needed for the programming.
