Sophie Hunter

Sophie Hunter plays The Secret Group on Friday, October 9. It's a single-bill night, so she's the only name on the poster. The show starts at 7 PM, with doors opening an hour earlier at 6 PM.

If you're not already familiar, Hunter is a songwriter and performer who's been working her way through the Houston scene. This is a headlining slot, meaning the whole set is hers. She'll be playing her own material, and since she's the sole feature of the evening, you'll get a full run of her songs rather than a short opening set. It's the kind of night where the focus stays on one voice from start to finish.

The Secret Group is over on Polk Street, just a few blocks from downtown. It's a spot that's hosted a good range of local and touring acts, and it's easy to get to whether you're coming from the Heights or Midtown. If you're planning to grab a drink or some food beforehand, the area around Polk has plenty of options within walking distance.

Tickets start at $33.78, and the show kicks off at 7 PM on Friday, October 9, at The Secret Group, 2101 Polk St, Houston, TX 77003. Doors open at 6 PM.
