The ROCO Brass Quintet performs traditional beer hall music and brass arrangements paired with locally brewed craft beers, root beer, and cider.
ROCO is bringing back one of its annual traditions, Beer & Brass, to Saengerhalle on Thursday, January 14, 2027. The ROCO Brass Quintet takes the stage with a program of traditional beer hall music and their favorite brass arrangements, paired with locally brewed craft beers, root beer, cider, and tasty bites. It's a midweek outing meant to ring in the new year.
The evening is part of The W.T. & Louise J. Moran Foundation Connections Series, which takes audiences to new and unexpected places for site-specific performances and connects the community through music in partnership with other arts and community organizations. Some of the series' concerts are curated by ROCO musicians themselves. The whole thing was inspired by ROCO cellist Philip Borter's Fulbright research in Brazil, which led him to curate an evening celebrating the country's musical traditions at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston's Lynn Wyatt Theater. Texas Monthly is the series' media sponsor.
