The raucous cult classic rock musical returns to the stage, telling the story of a newly engaged couple in a gothic castle.
Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show returns to Houston this October, with Art Factory presenting the production from October 16 through October 25. It's a raucous run of the cult classic, and if you're planning to catch it, you've got a ten-day window to work with.
The story is one you probably know by heart: a newly engaged couple finds themselves stranded in a gothic castle, where they cross paths with Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist with a penchant for the theatrical and a penchant for creating life in his lab. From there, the plot spirals into the kind of campy, high-energy chaos the show is known for. It's the sort of production that invites you to lean in, and given the cult status it's built over the years, it's usually as much about the crowd as it is about what's happening on stage.
Art Factory is the home for the main run, but there's a twist to the schedule. After the October 25 closing, the production returns for a special Halloween performance on October 31, and that one moves to a different spot: The Docks in Houston. So if you miss the initial run or just want to see it one more time when the date actually matches the mood, that Halloween show is your second chance.
