A night of emo, indie and punk karaoke at The Secret Group, part of the 'Nothing Matters Presents' series, with a 21+ age restriction.
Our Mic Is Your Mic: Emo Karaoke is at The Secret Group on Sunday, October 11, from 9 PM to 2 AM. It's part of the Nothing Matters Presents series, and the whole night is built around singing your favorite emo, indie, and punk hits. The organizers describe it as a chance to scream, wail, and sing along, and they've got cordless mics and smoke machines on site to make you feel like Gerard Way himself.
If you're not the type to take the stage, it still works as a room to hang out in and hear other people belt out the songs you know. The setlist isn't fixedβit's whatever the crowd brings to the micβso the music shifts from emo to indie to punk throughout the night. The cordless mics mean you can move around while you're singing, and the smoke machines are there to lean into the whole dramatic, mid-2000s vibe.
